What are keto chaffles? The name originated from combining cheese + waffles. That’s because the ingredients for the classic recipe includes cheese, and their typically cooked with a waffle iron, though a frying pan will work. I’ve included a dairy and non-dairy keto chaffles recipe option because a lot of folks suffer from dairy allergies, intolerance, or would simply prefer not to include more cheese in their diet.

You’ll often see posters on social networks suggest the Dash Mini (link to Amazon) because it’s inexpensive and perfect for making one serving at a time. If you decide that you really like chaffles, you might want to purchase a larger one though. In fact, I bought a larger two-waffle iron and wished I had purchased a four-waffle model.

You can also make a flatbread-style chaffle in a frying pan if you don’t have a waffle iron. Leave out the butter, margarine, or oil, and use them to grease your skillet instead. They may spread out more, so you may want to use a pancake mold to make them more uniform. They generally take about two or three minutes for each side in a pre-heated pan.
